About Pannon
Pannon is the chief sponsor of the Hungarian Handball Federation and the women’s and men’s national teams
For years, the Hungarian national teams have been at the forefront of international handball. Pannon has been the chief sponsor of the Hungarian Handball Federation since 2004. In early 2007, the company and the Federation decided to continue their cooperation. The officials of the Hungarian Handball Federation have often stressed that Pannon's support provides a secure background for the training and tournament work of the women's and men's national teams. Both teams have won praise at recent international tournaments with their mastery of the game and fighting spirit, much acclaimed by audiences. Pannon’s support provides a solid background to keep up the teams’ outstanding international success. This support gives the national handball teams access to a budget of several hundred million HUF over the course of several years.
Pannon is the chief sponsor of the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation and the men’s national team
Pannon is the chief sponsor of the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation. The reliable background the company provides for the training and tournament participation of the national team is something of a rarity on the Hungarian sports scene.
With the help of the mobile company, the Hungarian Federation organises regular friendly matches with the world’s leading national teams; the success of Pannon Cup tournaments has now become a tradition.
The greatest success of the national team to date has been its victory at the Sapporo 1st Division world championship and meaning it made its way into the elite of the sport, Group A.
Since Pannon has committed itself to the cause of ice hockey, we have witnessed a spectacular development of the sport in Hungary. We would like to mention two examples of this. New, indoor ice rinks have been constructed in various cities (Budapest, Debrecen, Miskolc and Kaposvár), and the number of hockey teams is on the rise.
The number of spectators also indicates the increase in the popularity of the sport: the title games of the top Hungarian teams attract more spectators today than the national football championship.
